The raw score is normalized to a 0-100 scale.
Not all variables contribute equally. Football Strength anchors the model in reality — no weak team should top the rankings regardless of narrative. Narrative variables differentiate teams of similar footballing quality.
The Destiny Engine is a narrative model, not a pure fantasy system. The narrative must be plausible. A team ranked 80th in the world cannot win the World Cup regardless of how compelling their story is. Football Strength at 3× ensures that elite teams always have a baseline advantage — but it can be overcome by a powerful combination of narrative factors. A team with STR=5 but perfect 10s across Persistence, Destiny Debt, and Redemption can still rank above a team with STR=9 and no narrative. That's the magic.
